An eventful meeting at Stoker Park with 3 injuries, 2 run-offs, a meeting reserve taking 5 rides and putting it about to score 7 and a 13 year old stepping into the meeting and having 4 rides to score a respectable 4 points. It all began in heat 1 where the leader of this section, Robbie Cormack, came down heavily on the first turn damaging his ribs and was withdrawn from the meeting. This threw the meeting wide open and it was Cameron Monk who took full advantage. After a first race third lace he stormed to 4 fine wins to end on 13 points. He was joined on that score by Giles Hill. Hill had a chance to reach 14 but was beaten in heat 18 by surprise packet Andy McLintock. Monk, who was on a roll by now, raced from the tapes in the run-off and Hill was not able to get on terms. Before that run-off there was another one for third place. This was won by Andrew Knapkin who continues to improve round by round. He and Harry Coles had both finished on 12 points and the semi-finals are well within their reach. On 10 points were John Graham and McLintock. Graham could have scored more but for a retirement in his fourth ride. McLintock who is the first reserve was in the meeting due to an injury to Christian Roche. He took his chance well to ride to 10 points including a couple of fine wins. A good meeting too for Irishman Richie Harrington. 9 points being one of his better efforts of the series. Reserve Tim Luckhurst managed to have 5 rides and rode extremely well for 7 points. Fellow reserve, 13 year old Karl Jennings, surprised everyone with his speed and riding to score 4 points from his 4 rides. These two will be ones to look out for next season. The other injuries befell Fraser Bravery who will miss the next 2 rounds and Rock Reason who will be fit for round 7. Cormack will sit the next round out to rest his injury. Sometimes these youngsters enthusiasm gets the better of them but they will learn as their careers progress.

Robbie Cormack fell heavily on the first turn in heat 1 and has damaged his ribs. He will be out for 1 week and will miss round 7.

 

Fraser Bravery locked up on bend 3 on lap 2 of heat 8 and landed face first onto the track. He has damaged his eye and the area around it and will be out for 3 weeks. He will miss rounds 7 and 8.

 

Rocky Reason slipped off in heat 19 hurting his ankle but will be fit for the next round.
