THE ANDY DAVIDSON MEMORIAL AUSTRALASIAN GRAND PRIX RESULT

It was a fine GP down under for MACIEJ TERCJAK (STOCKPORT SHALEBLASTERS) who scored 18 points from a possible 21 and lifted himself from 8th place overall to 3rd in the rankings after 3 of the 8 rounds have been completed.  Behind him DENIS GOMOZOV (ABERAVON GEMS) started the day in 3rd but made a nightmare start to the meeting with two last places before scraping into the Semi Finals and ending the afternoon 2nd in the round; it wasn't enough to stop him falling down the rankings a little but his late surge keeps him up in 5th.  HANS E BERGESTOL (TEESSIDE TRANSPORTERS) maintained his title chase by finishing 3rd in this round with 14 points that keeps him joint top of the overall standings.  JONUS SANDIN (WANTAGE KINGS) began with a fall and had just 2 points at the interval but battled back to reach the Grand Final here and he stays in 6th place overall.

MARTIN SHAW (KING'S LYNN LIGHTNING) continues to defy those who thought his best days were behind him, 15 points lifting him to 4th overall, and HAYDEN WOOD (LANARKSHIRE LIONS) pulled himself back into the top 8 overall with 10 hard earned points.  LIAM REAY (WORKINGTON LOGHEADS) was disappointed to dip out in the Semi Finals in this one but he'd already scored 14 points which means he remains tied at the top with Bergestol, the pair 12 clear of their nearest challenger at the moment.  The last Semi Finalist was defending champion NICK AMBROSE (TWEEDSIDE TIGERS) who failed to win a race and now sits in 7th overall but he continues to battle as he looks for an amazing 4th straight world title win.

Two riders unlucky to not make the latter stages were BRAXTON MCCHESNEY (WHITBY VAMPIRES) and SCOTT BRIDGES (ABERAVON GEMS) who missed out after both having a qualifying race where they failed to finish where just a single point would have seen them progress.  The pair now sit outside the top 8 overall but both are within striking distance with a good score or two.  Like McChesney & Bridges CHRIS ADAMS (WOLSTON WARRIORS) scored 6 points to take his series total to 15, down in 13th place overall.  It was a bad round for OLEG YELESNEV (WOLSTON WARRIORS) who added just 5 to his running total and he drops out of the top 8 places, although only 2 points off.  MARK BLACK (WORKINGTON LOGHEADS) stepped up from reserve to replace the injured Ryan Irwin in this one but could score just 4 points, the same as Wild Card FILLIPPE CHONG (WANTAGE KINGS) who battled hard to show he is certainly not out of his depth at the very top level, even at his tender age.  HENRIK HANSEN (TUNSTALL TERRIORS) continued his struggle in the GPs, scoring 3 points, whilst ERIK DAVIDSSON (KING'S LYNN LIGHTNING) also scored just 3 in a nightmare round that saw him fall from 4th to 9th overall.  The other rider to take to the track was reserve JESPER RISAGER (ZAGREB ZEBRAS) who replaced McChesney as he failed to beat the 2 minute allowance and the experienced Dane picked up a point.
