Round 8 and Andrew Knapkin’s steady rise in form finally saw him take top spot. After a second place behind Cameron Monk in his opening ride he then took 4 superb wins to finish on 14 points and top of the pile. He is looking very good now after completing his second coaching session and should easily make the semi-finals. In fact he is 1 of only 2 riders who have been for coaching from the North section, the other being Robbie Cormack who came back from injury to post a very creditable 12 points. Just ahead of him and on the podium were Monk and Harry Coles. They both finished the meeting on 13 points with Monk being victorious in the run-off. Giles Hill could easily have made the podium but for a fall in his third ride when well placed. Unattached riders Richie Harrington and Andy McLintock put in solid performances to score 9 and 8 respectively. This will stand them in good stead to be allocated to a team for next season. There was a nasty looking crash in heat 9 involving Logan Bremner and Oscar Tyrer. Both were a little worse for wear and were withdrawn from the meeting under medical advice.

Injuries Update:

Logan Bremner and Oscar Tyrer crashed heavily in heat 9. Bremner was slightly concussed and Tyrer cracked a couple of ribs. They were both withdrawn from the meeting and will not ride for one week. They will both be fit for the next round.
