European Semi Final 1
It was a Russian 1-2 in this European Semi Final with Boris Dvoynev enhancing his ever growing reputation by taking the win on 14 points and Denis Gomozov also easing through as expected, ending in 2nd place after beating Czech rider Marc Vaniak in a run-off with both tied on 13 points.  3 other riders also carded double figures, led by experience UL star Matija Petkovic on 11 and a pair of riders currently doing well in Europe, Maxim Shirakov & Donato Dragotto, both totalling 10 points.  22 year old Croatian Vedran Jajalo surprised many onlookers by opening with 2 heat wins and added enough points to qualify fairly comfortably whilst current GP rider Oleg Yelesnev found points hard to come by, failing to win a heat, but did enough to progress to the European Final.  Franz Masaryk won heat 19 which was to prove a vital race victory as it meant he pipped the highly fancied Tibor Nemecek in claiming the reserve place on 6 points.

 European Semi Final 2
The growing strength of Russia was demonstrated again in this Semi Final as Nikita Fedorenko waltzed his was to top spot on the rostrum with 14 points, 3 ahead of his nearest rival, with compatriot, and Evolution League star, Vladislav Akumbaev scoring 10 to finish 3rd.  The pair were split by Leonard Stampfl, the Czech celebrating having recently secured a spot in the European League with an 11 point total.  Behind the trio it was a real battle as just 2 points separated 4th down to 14th!  Czech rider Hynek Kosciuch, without a league place but making a strong claim for a move in the future, and Frenchman Xavier Blanc both added fairly consistent points to race wins to reach totals of 8 which were enough to qualify.  At the other end of the group fighting to progress were Artem Ivanov disappointed with 6 points where he was joined by Sorin Draghu and Dimitar Stoyanov who both suffered costly retirements as they fell a point short of qualification.  This left 6 riders tied on 7 points with just 3 places available in the European Final and the stattos were scratching their heads as the dust settled on the final heat.  It quickly became apparent that German pair Otto Juttke and Henrik Wasserman (currently without a league place) would progress with 2 heats wins each, whilst the failure of Zevenbergen and highly fancied young Czech rider Ludek Janicek to win a race meant they were out.  The last qualifying place came down to 2 riders with the same race results over the meeting - former World Champion and UL star Petr Verner and young Hungarian rider Zoltan Benko who had ridden out of his skin all afternoon for his 7 points.  Happily for Verner he had won the earlier clash between the pair, back in heat 2 of the meeting, which meant he progressed into the next round where he will surely produce a much stronger performance than he did here.
